Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the effect of remedial assets management on bank performance in Nigeria, by examining the effect of CBN credit reforms, credit risk-based supervision and credit consolidation on the performance of banks in Ogun State. To examine the aforementioned, a descriptive research design of a survey type was used employed. Five deposit money banks in Ogun State, Nigeria were selected. The sample size was delimited to 50 employees across five selected listed deposit money banks in Ogun State, (First Bank, Eco Bank, Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC and UBA) and 10 employees were selected using purposive sampling techniques across the selected banks. The data gathered was analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis methods. The results indicated that CBN credit reforms have a considerable favorable impact on the performance of deposit money banks in Ogun State, Nigeria, to the tune of 0.047 (p=0.005<0.05). Hence the research recommends that banks in Ogun State, Nigeria, pay particular attention to the recovery of debts owed by the creation and empowerment of committees to handle the debt profile and information on the most adequate means to recover their debts
