Relationship of Personality Traits and Organizational Commitment

Abstract
The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between personality traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness to Experience) and organizational commitment of the staff of the head department of Ayandeh Bank. To assess personality traits, the NEOPI-FF Questionnaire and to to evaluate organizational commitment, the Allen and Meyer's (1990) Organizational Commitment Questionnaire were used. In the present study, the descriptive-correlational method was used in terms of the nature of the problem because researchers investigate the relationship between personality traits and organizational commitment of the staff of the head office of Ayandeh Bank using questionnaires. In addition, questionnaires designed in the sample which included 223 participants based on Cochrane formula were distributed using the stratified random sampling and then, they were collected and analyzed using Spearman test. The results indicated that there is a positive and weak correlation between personality traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness to Experience) and organizational commitment of the staff of the head department of Ayandeh Bank.
